European Neighbours' Day is an initiative of the European Federation of Local Solidarity (E.F.L.S.) Its objective is to foster community cohesion in Europe, by creating networks for exchanges on neighbourly and community practices. www.localsolidarity.com

Dear Neighbours,
This year again on 29th May, Neighbours' Day celebrations reached an enormous success. About 8 million people celebrated with their neighbours in 29 countries (20 countries from the EU. Almost 1000 city councils and housing organisations officially supported the event. We received a lot of very positive feedback from people who shared a good time with their neighbours.
2009 will be an import year in Europe. Let's celebrate again next year with our neighbours those european values of fraternity and friendliness in which we all trust.
